L1 ISAK Skilled Anthropometrist
I have always been very passionate about food and health. As a people-person, it seemed only natural to embark on a career which involves talking about food with people.
I completed my BSc in Human Nutrition at Otago University and later went on to become a qualified Dietitian by completing a Post-Graduate Diploma in Dietetics (2010) in Wellington. I now reside in Tauranga.
I value personal commitment to exercise and have enjoyed the challenge of completing half marathons and other sports activites. My enjoyment of sport has lead me down the track of acquiring particular skills and credentials to practice as a Sports Dietitian. I am the current bay of plenty pathway to podium (P2P) nutrition provider for these select talented and developing athletes.
I have a young family and understand how challenging it can be to ‘do’ healthy living in today’s fast-paced lifestyle.
I believe that we all need dietary changes that are realistic, practical, palatable and sustainable. Prior to founding Focus On Food in 2013 I have worked for many years as a hospital dietitian and nutrition consultant in Wellington Hospital and Kenepuru Hospital. I have many years of experience in providing nutrition therapy for gastrointestinal disorders, weight management, health specific needs (diabetes, cholesterol), disordered eating and maternal health. I am a dietitian prescriber and can advise on suitable nutritional supplements for adults and children.
